Noted stand-up comedian Jackie Mason dies at 93
Jackie Mason was one of the last of the Borscht Belt comedians Jackie Mason, the sometimes controversial standup comedian who unapologetically embraced Jewish themes and political incorrectness died on Saturday in Manhattan, at the age of 93.According to Fox News, the news of his death was confirmed by his friend and lawyer Raoul Felder. He died at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan Saturday, with his wife Jyll and a few friends by his side. There will be a small, private funeral service Sunday in New York, said Felder, who declined to name the location. A larger, public memorial service is expected at a later date, the lawyer noted.An emotional Felder said, “We shall never see his like again. This was a mold that was broken. John Mulaney announces 10 new dates for stand-up tour
John Mulaney is known for his Broadway show ‘The Oh, Hello Show’ with longtime friend Nick Kroll, who has also collaborated with on the animated series ‘Big Mouth American stand-up comedian John Mulaney recently added 10 new dates to his ongoing standup tour, which he kicked off at Manhattan’s City Winery in May. He is now headed to Boston’s Wilbur Theater for a week-long stint, starting from August 14.According to Variety, the former ‘SNL’ writer, best known for his Emmy-winning 2018 stand-up special ‘Kid Gorgeous’, will be debuting new material in the show titled ‘John Mulaney: From Scratch’, in what marks his first long-term return to the live stage following a months-long hiatus.
